2.More than 200 students of NSYSU joined the East River Column to fight against Japanese aggression
In the second half of 1944, the Kuomintang was forced to retreat from the frontline, and Shaoguan and other areas in northern Guangdong were about to fall. The underground CPC organization of NSYSU mobilized about 200 outstanding students to join the East River Column and fight in the battlefield behind enemy lines. These students made important contributions to the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation in southern China.
