1.The resumption of publication of the journals Natural Sciences and Social Sciences
In February 1948, the Social Sciences established by the College of Law published a new volume. In March, the academic journal Natural Sciences established by the College of Science resumed publication.

2.The establishment of the Department of Anthropology
In 1948, the Department of Anthropology was established in the College of Liberal Arts, with Professor Yang Chengzhi appointed as its director.

3.Chen Kezhong and Zhang Yun were appointed as Presidents of NSYSU successively
On July 3, 1948, the resignation submitted by President Wang Xinggong of NSYSU was accepted, and Zhang Yun was primed to take over the post. Since Zhang Yun was still in the United States and had not returned to China, Chen Kezhong served as the acting president. On September 27 of the same year, Zhang Yun’s resignation was accepted, and the acting president Chen Kezhong was officially appointed as the president of NSYSU. In June 1949, President Chen Kezhong resigned due to health reasons, and Zhang Yun succeeded him as President.
