1.The completion of the takeover and the appointment of the Interim University Affairs Committee
On January 20, 1950, the takeover of National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) was completed, and the members of the Interim University Affairs Committee of the University and deans of various colleges were appointed by the Guangzhou Military Control Committee.

2.NSYSU was renamed “Sun Yat-sen University”
On September 9, 1950, the Ministry of Education decreed that “public universities shall not be prefixed with ‘National’, ‘Provincial’, ‘County’, or ‘Public’.” On November 6, Sun Yat-sen University officially adopted a new school seal with the inscription “Seal of Sun Yat-sen University”.

3.The publicity and organizational work to resist US aggression and aid Korea
On November 18, 1950, the “Sun Yat-sen University Committee for Resisting US Aggression and Aiding Korea and Defending the Motherland” was established. Faculty members and students of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) participated in various activities during the movement, including the construction of the Baiyun Airport, the registration for enrollment in military officer schools, the donation of aircraft and artillery, and the organization of medical teams to support Korea.
