On the evening of November 11th , an original symphonic epic concert was performed at Xing Hai Concert Hall.

This symphonic epic, named“The Doctrines of Our University”, consists of six chapters, which centers on the theme of the spirit of university and explores every SYSUer’s dual responsibilities given by our time and our country.

The piece is performed together by Symphony Orchestra of Sun Yat-sen University, Chorus of Sun Yat-sen University, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and Chorus of Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, composed by Han Wenhe, associate professor from the art school, and written by Peng Jiannan, associate professor from the school of Chinese languages, under the conduct of Ye Dalin, the director and first conductor of Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra.

Principals of prestigious universities from home and abroad, officials from the Ministry of Education, and heads and guests of different fields in Guangdong attended this concert. With the alumni and representatives of SYSU faculty and students, the number of the audience present was about 1000. Meanwhile, the symphony reached a greater scale with over 500,000 views online.
