Coinciding with the 100th Anniversary, History Museum of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) was officially opened to the public on November 9, featuring a brand new exhibition showcasing university history. The opening ceremony was held in front of the Grant Hall at Guangzhou South campus.

At the ceremony, Zhu Kongjun, secretary of the CPC Sun Yat-sen University Committee, emphasized that the university history museum will play an important role in showcasing the missions and achievements of the university to the public.
According to Professor Xu Junzhong, the curator of University History Museum, the museum is expected to become a shrine to inheritate school philosophy and academic tradition of SYSU, as well as a research base for young students.
An appreciation ceremony was held to to recognize alumni's contribution. Professor Chen Chunsheng, former secretary of the CPC SYSU committee, extended gratitude towards the alumni concerned and delivered certificates of appreciation to them.


The brand new exhibition consists of four parts, Establishment of the University, Devotion to Welfare of the People, Embracing New Opportunities, and Exploring the Unknown. Through letters, manuscripts, works, audio and video documents and other precious historical materials over the past century, the exhibition showcases the glorious history and achievements of SYSU.
